With a solid international projection, the thirty-seventh edition of the Macael Awards, to be held on November 15, is preparing to recognize the most innovative and sustainable projects in the natural stone industry and innovative surfaces. In this edition, in which 25 candidatures have been presented, 12 awards will be given, 7 of which will be destined to international projects, consolidating even more the global prestige of these awards.
The awarded projects, as a result of the decision of the Jury formed by the members of the Board of Directors of AEMA, underline the ability of the industry to adapt to the most demanding architectural and design demands of the world scene. The Macael Awards, organized by the Association of Marble Entrepreneurs of Andalusia, AEMA, not only value the quality and know-how of one of the main natural stone industries worldwide, but also celebrate its ability to convert raw materials into sustainable and innovative solutions, promoting the development of environmentally responsible infrastructures.
And true to its commitment to sustainability, the gala will once again be a carbon-neutral event. The event, in addition to bringing together companies in the sector, representatives of the administration and renowned figures in architecture, design and construction, will also be attended by participants in the third edition of the ‘Program for the promotion of the natural stone industry and innovative surfaces, focused on architecture students’. Postgraduate and master students from the universities of Seville, Granada and Malaga will explore in depth the principles of the Macael Brand, its materials and the transforming capacity of this industry. Through specialized lectures and guided visits to quarries and companies, future architects will learn about the fundamental role of natural stone in modern architectural design. The program will culminate with their attendance at the awards gala. The event will also coincide with the International Stone Encounter, organized by TRADE, reaffirming Macael as a world reference in this industry.
