The Andalusian Marble Industry Association (AEMA) has been distinguished in the I Consumer Awards of Spain, awarded by the Spanish Association of Consumers (Aescon), in the category of Companies and Business Associations. The presentation of these awards will take place on April 24 in Madrid, in a ceremony that will bring together representatives from the business, institutional and social spheres.
The Consumers of Spain Awards were created with the aim of recognizing Positive Consumption, highlighting the work of citizens, organizations, companies, media and public administrations that contribute, from different areas, to improve the relationship between the consumer and the productive fabric.
In this context, the distinction awarded to AEMA recognizes the trajectory of the association and the role it plays in promoting and defending the interests of an industry committed to innovation, sustainability and economic development. Throughout its history, the entity has worked to boost the competitiveness of the natural stone sector and innovative surfaces, encourage the internationalization of its companies and promote the value of Macael materials in national and international markets.
AEMA celebrates 50 years of history
This recognition also comes at a particularly significant time for the organization, which is on the eve of celebrating its 50th anniversary, scheduled for 2027. On the occasion of this anniversary, the Andalusian Marble Industry Association has prepared an agenda of commemorative activities, starting this year 2026, which will highlight half a century of work at the service of a strategic sector for the economy of the province of Almeria and for the international projection of Spanish natural stone.
AEMA has valued this distinction as a recognition of the collective effort of the companies that make up the association and the commitment of an entire region with a sector that combines tradition, innovation and future. In the words of Jesús Posadas, president of the business organization, “awards such as this one also contribute to highlighting the role of the sector in the generation of employment, wealth and sustainable development, as well as its contribution to the prestige of Spanish industry”.
