“Lay the first stone for a merry Christmas. Match the weight, nourish hearts”, is the call that resonates in this solidarity initiative that the Association of Marble Entrepreneurs of Andalusia leads this Christmas. The campaign, based on the collection of food for the Food Bank of Almeria, encourages companies in the stone industry and innovative surfaces and their workers, to achieve a challenge: to attain the same amount of food collected to the weight of a block of marble Blanco Macael, which has been installed today at the headquarters of AEMA.
In this way, the association appeals to the union through a symbol of the origin and strength of the Macael Brand, to measure the benevolent contribution of this region with many families in our province. “Together, we want to transform the mass of this block of marble into welfare for those who need it most,” said Jesús Posadas, president of the employers’ association, who encourages participation in this movement.
The solidarity campaign, which began on December 6, will conclude next Thursday, December 21. AEMA, in direct collaboration with local supermarkets, facilitates the donation process for those who wish to join this noble purpose. It has simplified participation by establishing predefined food lots for donation. For example, a contribution of 100 euros is equivalent to 86 kilos of food. Interested parties can contact the association to make their donations through the lot reservation.
